The Children's Fund of Metropolitan Washington accepts proposals from 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organizations in the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. Proposals should address our mission statement and our funding priorities. |

Board Meeting . . . Proposal Submission Deadline
November, 2007 . . Postmarked by September 14, 2007
- Grants have been distributed for the above fall cycle. Currently, the Foundation is in the process of reassessing its mission and we will not accept proposals that were due on March 14, 2008.

Application Process
- All requests must follow the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers (WRAG) guidelines. See "Application"
- Submit two copies of the proposal; only one complete copy with attachments, including the audit and 990
- The two page Executive Summary should give concrete program information:
- Date organization was established and the specific mission
- Number of children served
- Geographical area
- Targeted population and the ages of the children
- Specific activities of the program
- Number of meetings per week
- Brevity in the body of the proposal is appreciated
- Discussion of expected outcomes is important
- Collaboration with other area programs is encouraged
- A recent audit must be included
- A most recent 990 is required
- Staple or clip pages rather than using folders or plastic covers
- Proposals postmarked on or before the due date but not received until after that date will meet the submission deadline
- To prevent proposals and correspondence from being returned to your organization use only First Class Mail with no signature required

Limitations
Grants are only awarded to:
- Programs for children and youth or
- Family programs that benefit children directly
- Non-profit organizations exempt under the IRS Code, Section 501 (c) (3)
- Organizations operating within the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area
|
|
|
|
Grants are not awarded to:
- Research programs
- Capital Campaigns
- Endowment Campaigns
- National programs, except if there is a program operating in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area
